Urban Butterfly Walk at Kallang Riverside Park with Simon Chan (9-724-3106)
Meeting place: Station Control of Kallang MRT.
Time: 9.30 am

We will be taking a leisurely stroll in the park which is made up of mostly grassland. Be sure to wear long pants as the lallang can give quite a nasty cut. Species common here include the Blue Pansy, Peacock Pansy, Lesser Grass Blue and many more urban species. Participants will be enthralled with the black and white Cabbage White which is very common here but seldom seen elsewhere. There are some coffee shops a few minutes away.

Butterfly Walk at Bukit Timah Nature Reserve  with Steven Neo (6433-7509)
Meeting Place: Visitor Centre.
Time: 9.30 am.

We will be taking the cycling track leading towards the quarry. Species spotted here include the ever magnificent and endangered Common Birdwing and Common Rose. Others like the Knight, Horsfield Baron, Archduke, Malay Viscount and many more forest denizens can be encountered on this trail. Also not forgetting the recent arrival Autumn Leaf which called Singapore home since Sept 1999.

Please bring enough water to last 3 hours. Insect repellent will be needed for this walk.

Butterfly Walk at Bukit Timah Nature Reserve with Gan Cheong Weei (6775-9242)
Meeting place: Visitor Centre.
Time: 9.30 am.

We will be walking on the cycling track leading towars the Senapang track. This part of the world used to be a village and the forest have partially reclaimed it. Species regularly found here include the Common Posy, Malayan Egg Fly, Common Mormon, Common Caerulean, Common Faun, a few Sailor species and many more. We hope to see the endangered but magnificent Common Birdwing.  Please bring enough water and mosquito repellent as the walk will last about three hours

Butterfly Walk at Sungei Buloh Wetland Reserve with Jing Ling (9-724-3106)
Meet at the Visitor Center at 9:30am. (Neo Tiew Crescent, map 20).

We will be taking a leisurely stroll in the park on the left side after the main bridge. Lovelies seen here include the Sumatran Sunbeam, the Blue Glassy Tiger and the similar looking Dark Glassy Tiger, the fast flying Banded Swallowtail and the black and white Common Mormon.  We might encounter the rare Blue Nawab.
Participants are advised to speak quietly as Sungei Buloh is a bird sanctuary.  Please bring enough water and insect repellent for this 2~3 hour walk.

Butterfly Walk at Singapore Island Country Club with Steven Neo (6433-7509)
Meeting place: Hut at the intersection of Venus Drive and Island Club Road.
Time: 9.30 am.

Species seen here varied from season to season depending on whether there were flowering trees in the forest. Residents include the Commander, Knight, Malay Viscount, Archduke, Five Bar Swordtail, Great Helen, Common Tree Nymph and many more forest denizens.
The Banded Yeoman, Royal Assyrian and Pandita sinope sinope are just some of the more seasonally common species. We hope to see the Dark Blue Jungle Glory which we have not seen for some time now.
Remember to bring enough water and mosquito repellent as the walk will last about three hours.

Butterfly Walk at Alexandra Hospital Butterfly Trail with Gan Cheong Weei (6775-9252)
Meeting place: At carpark outside main entrance of hospital.
Time: 9.30 am.

This is the first time we have an official walk at the grounds of this hospital who have, with the expertise of the Butterfly Interest Group, been planted with butterfly attracting plants. Species spotted here include the common Lime Butterfly, the graceful Painted Jezebel, the fast-flying Common Tit, Common Mormon, Plain Tiger and the new resident, the Autumn Leaf. The walk will last about two hours.

Butterfly Walk at Pulau Ubin with Simon Chan (9724-3106)
Meeting place: Changi Village jetty.
Time: 9.30 am.

From the jetty we will be taking a bum boat ride ($2 each way) to the idyllic island. Species spotted there include the rare Blue Nawab, Great Mormon, very common Blue Glassy Tiger and its almost identical cousin Parantica agleoides agleoides. Remember to bring enough water and mosquito repellant. The walk will last about three hours (excluding bum boat ride).

Butterfly Walk at Upper Seletar Reservoir with Gan Cheong Weei (6775-9242)
Meeting place: Viewing tower.
Time: 9.30 am.

We will be taking a leisurely stroll around the park which boasts butterflies like Great Mormon, Malay Lacewing, Commander, Common Mormon, Cruiser and many more forest denizens. We hope to see the very rare Dark Blue Jungle Glory, the seasonal Plain Lacewing and the once-a-lifetime encounter, the Chersonesia peraka peraka. Please bring enough water and mosquito repellant. This walk will be around 2 hours.

Butterfly Walk at Bukit Batok Nature Park with Jing Ling (9724-3106).
Meeting place: Bukit Batok Nature Park Main Car Park.
Time: 9.30 am

We will be taking a leisurely stroll in the park which is made up of mostly rubber plantations reclaimed by the forest. Butterflies common here include the forest species Tawny Palmfly, Branded Imperial, Malay Viscount and many urban species also like the Striped Albatross, Painted Jezebel and Lime Butterfly.  Sometimes one can even find the extremely rare Chocolate Albatross and the magnificent but endangered Common Birdwing.

Please bring enough water and insect repellent as the walk will take about three hours.
