Ever since the Butterfly Interest Group (BIG), previously known as the Butterfly Subgroup of the NSS, started conducting butterfly walks in the early nineties, there has been an overwhelming need for a comprehensive guide. People we met at the formal walks have mentioned that although there are books on Singapore butterflies, most are too big and too heavy to carry along and worst of all, not convenient to use, particularly when identifying a butterfly with a book in hand. What was sorely needed was something that can be easily whipped out at a moment's notice and of a reasonable size, yet contains enough information to identify most of the butterfly species we frequently encounter. Hence BIG came out with a pocket-sized, hand held, easily foldable guide that was one and a half years in the making.......

BIG is pleased to announce that we will be launching our very own butterfly guide at the Singapore Botanical Gardens on Sat Feb 2nd 2008.
